Abstract: This form is used to determine the eligibility of a person to receive a firearm from a Federal firearm licensee. It is also used to establish the identity of the buyer. The form is also used in law enforcement in investigations/inspections to trace firearms to confirm criminal activity. Implementing regulations are prescribed in 27 CFR 178.124.
