Abstract: The information requested will be used by SSA to verify identity and to provide replacement copies of forms SSA-1099/SSA-1042 needed to prepare Federal tax returns. We intend to offer the public the option to use the internet to request that SSA mail to them a replacement SSA-1099/SSA-1042S, eliminating the need for a phone call to a teleservice center or a visit to a field office.
