Terms of Clearance: This ICR is approved for 1,275 hours for Data Base Modermization of the state Clean Water Needs data bases, including the attached State Technology Survey regarding appropriate hardware/ software configurations for a modernized data base. The portion of the ICR related to an Abandoned Mines Pilot Survey and data regarding infrastructure, POTWs, and collector systems is not approved because no survey instrument or specific data items have been included with the ICR documentation or provided for public comment, as required by 5 CFR 1320.5(a)(1)(iii) and 1320.8(d). The agency should submit a separate ICR, and provide appropriate opportunity for public comment, to cover the collection of this other information once specific survey instrument(s) have been prepared.

Abstract: This information is necessary for a report to the Congress that is required under the Clean Water Act. It is an inventory wastewater treatment facilities and collector systems (Publicly Owned Treatment Works, POTWs), including existing facilities, as well as those needed and improvements needed to meet the intent of the Clean Water Act and that are eligible for funding under the Clean Water Act and the estiamted cost of these improvements. The respondents are the 50 States and Puerto Rico. Since this is a reduced scope partial survey, the burden is reduced for this 2-year period. The burden will return....
