Abstract: The Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996 requires that agencies collect taxpayer identification numbers (TINs) from individuals who do business with the Government, including contractors and recipients of credit, licenses, permits, and benefits. TINs will be used by the Department of Treasury in electronic funds transfer and used to collect delinquent accounts of NRC licensees and applicants.
