Abstract: This information is needed to meet the data collection requirements imposed by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA) for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. The information will be used to calculate participation rates required by PRWORA, provide other information for use in determining whether penalties should be imposed under PRWORA, and provide information for the annual report to Congress required by PRWORA. The respondents for the Emergency TANF data report are the 50 States of the United States.
