The House Committee has proposed part
145 legislation to revoke the 1988 amendment to part 145, thereby
subjecting foreign repair stations to the same requirements as
domestic repair stations. We plan to conduct an economic analysis
of domestic and foreign repair stations to determine whether
maintenance jobs are being moved overseas at a more rapid rate than
work is coming into the U.S. The survey will provide real data to
be used in the analysis.
