Approval of
pilot test only. Section B. of the supporting statement (page 4)
refers to pilot tests that will be conduted for the dealer,
manufacturer, and customer portions of the survey. We would like
more information on the results of these tests and what was done to
modify these instruments before final action is taken. At least one
commentor stated that the questionaire was too complex and we
concur. We also also concerned with the complexity of Part B of the
manufacturers questionaire and believe this should be carefully
evaluated before final approval. The customer survey also seems
unweildly for a telephone survey. Additional supporting materials
should be evaluated by OST and OMB should concur with each of the
final survey instruments before the full surveys are
undertaken.
