Abstract: The information collected by this survey is needed to complete an assessment of the current status of the U.S. high performance explosives and components sector. The study has been requested by the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Centers. Information will be collected only on military-grade explosives and their components. The Defense Department's procurements from this sector have declined 75 percent in the last 7 years giving rise to possible supply constraints.
