Terms of Clearance: This collection is approved provided that CDC revise the order of the race and ethnicity questions (questions 6 and 7) to comply with the Standards for the Classification of Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity. Second, prior to fielding the pilot, please detail CDC's plans for a more extensive network of sentinel surveillance sites, including timetables for implementation, the extent to which CDC plans to move toward a more structured and ongoing reporting system, and the populations to be included.

Chronic liver disease, including chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis, is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States.
