Executive Order 10978 dated December
5, 1961, authorized establishment of an award program to recognize
significant contributions to the export efforts of the United
States. The Secretary of Commerce, with others, is authorized to
establish procedures for nominations. The "E Star" was authorized
by the Secretary of Commerce in 1969. The application form is the
vehicle used to accept nominations and evaluate
candidates.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
