Terms of Clearance: This collection is approved through 4/30/99 pursuant to 5 CFR Part 1320. In order to ensure that the information has practical utility, EPA should ensure that any statistics prepared relating to job creation as a result of the program do not include jobs that are already there in an existing use. In addition, EPA will provide OMB a copy of any report or any data summary prepared from the results of the survey.

Abstract: OSRE will use four surveys to collect information from private parties (non-Government personnel) at Brownfield sites where Prospective Purchaser Agreements and Comfort/Status Letters have been issued or where they have been sought but not obtained. OSRE will use the information collected to evaluate the effectiveness of the guidance on Propective Purchaser Agreements and the Comfort/Status Letter policy, consider revisions to the guidance and policy, and consider expanding the use of Prospective Purchaser Agreements and Confort/Status Letters in other EPA media programs.
