These 18 forms, covering production,
consumption, stocks, and receipts of ferrous metal commodities, are
critical to the metals data collection effort and are used for
military and civilian planning and policy decisions related to the
commodities covered, which include iron ore, nickel, chromium,
cobalt, manganese, columbium, tantalum, molybdenum, tungsten,
silicon, iron and steel scrap, pig iron, and others. In addition to
quantities produced or consumed, various forms in which commodities
are produced or consumed are requested, along with the uses of the
quantities consumed. These data are compiled into tables,
