Abstract: Under ERISA, various multiemployer plan amendments are effective only if PBGC approves them or fails, within 90 days of notification, to disapprove them. PBGC rules for requesting approval require submission of information needed to carry out its statutory responsibility to evaluate the risk of loss, if any, posed by plan amendments.
