The FERC-592 data are required by the Commission to monitor interstae natural gas pipeline marketing affiliate activities so as to deter undue discrimination by interstate pipelines in favor of their marketing affiliates and to protect non-affiliates from unfair competition, discriminatory or preferential treatment. The proposed revision to the Commission's regulations is Docket No. RM98-10-000, (NOPR issued July 29, 1998) are required to update the capacity and short-term transportation monitoring process.
