Beryllium rocket motor fuel firing operations result in emissions of beryllium. In the Administrator's judgment, emissions from these sources are in sufficient quantity to cause or contribute to air pollution that may endanger public health or welfare. Consequently, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), subpart D, was promulgated on April 6, 1973, and amended November 7, 1985, for this source category. These standards establish limits for beryllium.
