Abstract: This collection of information for vessel identification is authorized under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act to govern domestic and foreign fishing. The regulations specify that the vessel's official identification number be displayed in various locations on vessels and auxiliary equipment (e.g., skiffs, helicopters) and in a manner which is clearly visible by enforcement vessel or aircraft.
