Abstract: Basic data on indigent defense systems in each of the 50 States were last collected in 1986. Over the past decade, much has changed in how indigent services are delivered. This information collection will measure how States and localities provide legal services for indigent criminal defendants, their caseload, and related costs and policies and practices.
