Motor carriers must require drivers to prepare paper records of the driver's duty status, use automatic on-board recording devices, or for certain drivers within a 100-air mile radius of the normal work reporting location, the motor carrier may use time cards/sheets similar to 29 CFR 516.0 and 516.2 (OMB No. 1215-0017), with the addition of one item--the time the driver is released from duty each day.
