Abstract: The Federal Reserve System uses information contained in these reports to assess foreign banking organizations' ability to be a continuing source of strength to their U.S. banking operations and to determine compliance with U.S. laws and regulations. All foreign banking organizations engaged in the business of banking in the United States file these reports annually. The 323 respondents include 55 foreign bank holding companies; 218 foreign banks with commercial lending companies, Edge corporations, or U.S. branches and agencies; and 50 foreign parent companies.
