This clearance
approves use of the modifications as proposed in the rule for
reporting in 1998, as requested in paragraph 4 of Section A. 1 of
the justification. OMB provided comment on 2139-0002 and -0004 on
January 9, 1998. BTS has been generally following in these
proposals many of the suggestions made in our comments. While we
believe that the modifications of the existing collections are
consistent with P. L. 104-88 and the Paperwork Reduction Act, we
would like to review BTS' response to public comment and any
modifications BTS may make at the final rule stage before taking
final action under the Paperwork Reduction Act.
