Terms of Clearance: This collection includes requirements contained in Sections 64.1100, 64.1150, 64.1160, 64.1170, 64.1180, and 64.1190. FCC should try to estimate costs incurred by service providers related to verification and retention requirements. The FCC shall delete the reference to using the Social Security Number of a subscriber to verify their identity as contained in the following sections of the Commission rules: 64.1150(c), 64.1170(c), and 64.1190(d)(2). OMB also believes that the proposed registration requirement contained in the FNPRM is redundent or should be combined with other existing registration requirements. The FCC should also define immediately as contained in section 64.1170(c).

Abstract: 47 U.S.C. section 258 makes it unlawful for any telecommunication carrier to submit or execute a change in a subscriber's exchange service or toll service carrier selection except in accordance with the Commission's verification procedures and provides that any carrier that violates these procedures and collects charges for telecommunications service from a subscriber after such violation shall be liable to the subscriber's properly authorized carrier for all charges collected. In this rulemaking, we adopt changes in 47 CFR sections 64.1100, 64.1150, 64.1160, 64.1170, 64.1180 and propose new requirements.
