The FCC is
revising the process by which Section 207 waivers and appeals are
to be processed. Additionally, the FCC is declared that it alone
has jurisdiction over how Section 207 rules will be interpreted.
This effectively reduces the burden associated with this
collection.

On September 25, 1998, the Commission
released an Order on Reconsideration, FCC 98-214. Among other
things, the Order on Reconsideration amends our rules by clarifying
how section 207 declaratory rulings and waivers in this matter are
to be served on all interested parties. Furthermore, FCC 98-214
modifies section 207 rules by establishing that the Commission now
exercises exclusive jurisdiction over the interpretation of section
207 rules, hence petitions will no longer be filed in local courts
and will instead be filed with the Commission.
