This information
collection request is approved for a full three years pending the
completion of the following terms of clearance: 1. ATSDR will
consult with the Department of Defense specialists in Epidemiology,
the National Cancer Institute, and the National Center for
Environmental Health on the following issues: (a) The use of Toxic
Release Inventory data to control for sources of emissions other
than hazardous waste sites; (b) Measuring exposure pathways and
exposure levels to aid in the analysis; (c) The methods of
classification of hazardous waste sites, and the uses of those
classifications in the analysis; (d) Potential selection biases due
to random digit dialing techniques; (e) The inclusion of
Spanish-speakers into the exposed and control groups. 2). At the
conclusion of the interagency meetings and prior to the
implementation of the study ATSDR will submit a summary of the
discussions, ATSDR's responses, any revisions to the protocol, and
a revised protocol to OMB for an additional ten-day review.

This study will evaluate the
association between environmental exposures and the risk of
childhood brain cancers.
