This paperwork
submission is approved as amended by FNS as of 6/18/99. FNS will
continue in the development of a consolidated electronic version of
the following forms: FNS-259, 249, 388, 256 350, and 388. This
effort has been temporarily suspended due to the state and federal
focus on Y2K changes. FNS in the future will consider less frequent
reporting requirements, perhaps on a semi-annual basis, due to the
continued decrease in food stamp mail issuance as a result of
states' increased use of electronic benefits transfers. As amended,
the FNS-259 will display the expiration date of OMB approval. This
amendment is included in the attached memo submitted by FNS to OMB
on 6/18/99.
