Terms of Clearance: The information collection provisions associated with the NPRM for MSHA's training rule are not approved at this time. DOL is examining public comment in response to this NPRM. The preamble to the final rule will address how the agency has addressed concerns related to minimizing the burden of this collection while maximizing its utility. MSHA's submission of this collection in conjunction with the final rule will reflect the changes made to this submission and the revised justification attached.

Abstract: This proposed rule would amend MSHA's existing health and safety training regulations in 30 CFR part 48 by establishing new training requirements in 30 CFR part 46 for shell dredging, sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate, and surface limestone mines.
