Application for a Certificate of Financial Responsibility
Extension without change of a currently approved collection
Regulations implement Sections 2 and
3, Public Law 89-777 (46 U.S.C. Sections 817(d) & (e)) which
require vessels with 50 or more passenger berths embarking from
U.S. ports and territories to evidence with the Commission
financial responsibility to indemnify passengers for nonperformance
and to meet liability incurred for death and injury.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
