The Tobacco Statistics Act of 1929 (7
U.S.C. 501-508) provides for the collection and publication of
statistics of the tobacco industry by the Department of Agriculture
with regard to quantity of leaf tobacco in all forms in the United
States and Puerto Rico, owned by or in possession of dealers,
manufacturers, growers' cooperative associations, and others with
exception of the original growers of the tobacco.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
