Information is needed to implement the
International Dolphin Conservation Program Act, which will allow
the entry of yellowfin tuna into the United States, under specific
conditions, from nations signatory to the program that would
otherwise be under embargo. It will also allow U.S. fishing vessels
to participate in the fishery in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean
on equivalent terms with the vessels of other nations. The
information collection will allow the tracking and verification of
"dolphin safe" and "non-dolphin safe" tuna products from capture
through to the U.S. markets.
