The National Park Service (NPS), in
conjunction with a natural resource protection council including
members from the Air Force and a number of State and Federal land
management agencies, is proposing in 1999 to conduct surveys of
persons using selected Alaskan Military Operations Areas where Air
Force training occurs. In several surveys, visitors to Harding Lake
State Recreation Area, Chena River State Recreation Area, and
Yukon/ Charley National Preserve will be asked about their
expectations concerning Air Force training and the impacts of
reports of overflights on their activities and
experiences.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
