This proposed rule would amend the regulations to allow fresh (chilled or frozen) pork and pork products from certain Mexican States to transit the United States, under certain conditions, for export to another country. Previously, the importation and intransit movement was restricted due to the presence of hog cholera. Since no outbreak has occurred since 1993, it appears that the pork and pork products could transmit the United States under seal with an insignificant risk of introducing hog cholera.
