Abstract: The National Science Foundation's Y2K surveys and collection of information are necessary as a vital service to the public. The issues, problems, and questions raised within the survey combined with the public's answers and attitudes will help give the Nation and vital U.S. indistries (i.e., banking, airline, and food/grocery industries) an indication of the way in which the public will most likely respond to Y2K problems, suggesting the public's likely conduct or behavior when responding to Y2K and Y2K-related issues.
