Abstract: Amendment 12 to Northeast Multispecies Fishery Management Plan will require fishing vessels to obtain a letter of authorization to fish with specified minimum mesh sizes in order to possess silver hake, red hake, and offshore hake. Vessel owners request a letter by phone. Vessels must also call to obtain a letter of authorization to transfer at-sea other than regulated multispecies. Vessels with transfer authorization must possess a receipt for fish purchased or otherwise transferred from another vessel at sea.
