The veterinary accreditation application and orientation program is utilized to assist in the implementation of the veterinary accreditation program. This veterinary accreditation program certifies qualified veterinary practitioners to participate in certain Federal and State regulatory animal health programs. Because we do not have sufficient numbers of Federal personnel to perform all of the disease prevention work that must be done, we rely heavily on assistance from accredited veterinarians in the private sector.
