Persons using fish traps to
participate in the commercial reef fish fishery in the Gulf of
Mexico must make an appointment with NMFS in order for the fish
traps to be inspected. This is a one-time requirement. Fishermen
will also be required to make telephone reports when initiating and
terminating fishing trips. This information is needed to monitor
fish trap fishing.
