Abstract: The Restructuring and Reform Act of 1998 requires that TIGTA evaluate IRS compliance procedures for seizing property for tax collection purposes, including those pertaining to levy approval. Confirmation letters will be sent to a random sample of taxpayers against whom levy actions have been taken to verify that they were notified of levy action as required by law.
