classifications for race/ethnicity. (2) EEOC will consult with
interested parties and respondents in order to ensure a smoothe
transition to the updated form. (3) As part of this consultation
process, EEOC will take the opportunity to investigate other issues
with respect to the EEO-3 including the potential for an electronic
reporting option. For example, EEOC should investigate the utility
of providing respondents with a diskette version of the form as an
option for reporting.

EEO-3 data are used by EEOC to
investigate charges of employment discrimination against referral
local unions and apprenticeship programs. Data are shared with 86
state and local Fair Employment Practices Agencies and with other
Federal agencies.
