The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery
Conservation and Management Act, as amended in 1996, provides for
the nomination for members of Fishery Management Councils by state
governors and Indian treaty tribes, for the designation of a
principle state fishery official for the purposes of the Act, and
for request by a state for reinstatement of state authority over a
managed fishery. The information submitted with these actions will
be used to ensure that the requirements of the Act are being
met.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
