The Army urgently needs redesigned marketing and recruiting strategies. New research is needed on the factors that affect youth willingness to enter the Army, the perceptions of their key influencers, patterns of recruiter-youth-influencer interactions, and on youths and influencers' media habits. These results must be identified for the Army's key recruiting market segments, whose qualification, interest, and optimum marketing strategies may differ.
