The decennial census is the
cornerstone of our knowledge about our Nation, from apportioning
the U.S. House of Representatives to providing the data used by
communities, businesses, and people everywhere. The census is the
only data gathering operation in the United States that is mandated
by the U.S. Constitution (article 1, section 2) and the only one
that produces a broad array of information on people and their
housing at the smallest geographic levels.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
