CDC proposes a study to assess the extent to which jails are following the CDC 1996 guidelines for the control and prevention of tuberculosis in jails. Jails are critical settings in which to provide interventions for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis. the study will involve a mail survey to 46 large jail systems and that local public health departments in jurisdictions with TB case rates above the national average.
