granted in concept for the information collection entitled,
"Application Booklets - Attorney General's Honor Program, Summer
Law Intern Program" through June 2001. However, the agency must
revise its race and ethnic categories and any references to comply
with approved OMB guidance for Federal data on race and ehtnicity,
upon submitting the information collection package for future
approvals. OMB reserves the right to ask for amendments and/or
deletions based on the results of the agency's response.

APPLICATION LAW EMPLOYMENT STUDENT.
The Department of Justice's Honor Program is the sole vehicle for
hiring graduating law students. It is highly competitive and
attracts thousands of applicants. The Summer Law Intern Program
introduces law student to the work of the Department of Justice.
Based upon their experience, participants in the Summer Law Intern
Program often apply to, and are selected for, the Attorney
General's Honor Program. The application booklets describe the
Programs' criteria and solicit information from applicants. This
information facilitates interviewing and hiring decisions.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
