Abstract: MMS will use the information to obtain missing data for wellbores that are not assigned API numbers, to identify other data missing from our records, to geologically map existing MMS data to the correct wellbore/location, and to evaluate resources for lease sales for fair market value. The information will also be used to approve permits and other operaitons to avoid the risk of blowouts, loss of well control, and endangement to life, health and the environment. Respondents are Federal OCS oil and gas lessees and operators.
