The Surface Transportation Board
surveys all non-waybill reporting railroads terminating traffic in
the U.S. to determine whether they meet the reporting requirements
for inclusion in the Annual Carload Waybill Survey. Our regulations
at 49 CFR 1244.2(f) require railroads not otherwise submitting
waybill information must report annually the number of carloads
terminated by state for the last calender year. In addition, we
seek revenue information for the last three years for the purpose
of classifying the railroad.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
