Abstract: This proposed ATSDR survey will explore the relationship among risk perception factors, perceived riskiness and behavioral intent of middle school-aged children. This survey is the first Agency effort to collect qualitative information which will be used to formulate subsequent reasearch hypotheses. With data from this survey and subsequent studies, ATSDR staff seek to shed light on what determinants influence young people's perceptions of environmental risk and what factors shape their behavioral responses to the risk. Furthermore, the proposed survey will help health professionals better understand risk perceptions.....
