On may 7, 1997, the Commission released a Memorandum Opinion and Order to conform the Commission's rules pertaining to indecency/obsenity on leased access and PEG channels to the Supreme Court's decision in Denver Area Education Telecommunications Consortium, inc. v. FCC. The remaining information collection requirements contained in Section 76.701 provide that a cable operator may adopt and enforce a written policy prohibiting the carriage of indecent programming on such channels.
