This information
collection request is approved consistent with ACF's discussion
with OMB on 2/22/2001. ACF will phase in the reporting requirement
on family size to allow States time for implementation. ACF will
provide technical assistance to States to improve the quality of
data submitted, and will report to OMB on the progress made in this
area at the time of resubmission. ACF will also provide OMB with a
report on its utilization of SSN's, and justify their continued
collection.

The Child Care and Development Block
Grant (CCDBG) Act of 1990, as amended, requires that States and
Territories submit monthly case-level data on the children and
families receiving direct services. On a quarterly or monthly basis
(at grantee option), States and Territories provide monthly sample
or full population case-level data which is used in reports to
Congress, addressing national child care needs, research, technical
assistance, and meeting performance measure requirements.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
