This information
collection request is approved. However, this approval only extends
to the student survey portion of this information collection. The
other survey instruments, including the district personnel, school
personnel, teacher, coalition partners, economic data, and focus
group surveys, may be approved by OMB through a change worksheet if
these surveys are streamlined to OMB's satisfaction in order to
considerably reduce burden. Additionally, any report on data
collected for the entire information collection shall not make
conclusions about the SS/HS program effectiveness. This study shall
just be considered an evaluation of the program
implementation.

The primary objectives of The National
Evaluation of the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative is to
determine the overall effectiveness of the initiative by helping to
determine if a coalition-based approach linking schools and other
community organizations can change the health and safety of
students.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
