New
collection (Request for a new OMB Control Number)
EPA is revising requirements of the
Oil and Gas Extraction Point Source Category Effluent Limitations
Guidelines (40 CFR Part 435) to include technology controls on
synthetic-based drilling fluids (SBFs). As part of its control

alternative to more frequent monitoring of SBF-cuttings. The
Information Collection Request (ICR) presents estimates of the
burden and costs to the regulated community (approximately 67 SBF
well drilling facilities annual- ly) and EPA (the NPDES permit
control authority) for data collec- tion and recordkeeping
associated with implementation of the BMP.
