The US Environmental Protection Agency
(US EPA) requires the information to be collected to ensure the
protection of human health and the environment. EPA will promulgate
a revised National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDW) to
reduce the risks of arsenic in drinking water. EPA has determined
that a revised NPDWR is warranted based on a National Academy of
Science National Research Council report mandated by the 1996
Amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). This report
