Marine engine manufacturers must perform emission tests on in-use engines to statistically determine that engines are in compliance with applicable standards and/or family emission limits. Manufacturers must generated and submit reports to EPA. These quarterly reports describe engines tested, test results, and the statistical compliance. Manufacturers must also maintain records for test equipment and test engines.
